I think the title of this post says it all and it's amazing to be honored again with a CMA nomination for Video of the Year! Carrie, of course, has several nominations in addition to this one and I could not be happier for her. It's been another incredible year and I am extremely thankful. Cross your fingers for November!!!
Every now and then a song comes along that allows you to create a music video that is just SHEER fun for fun’s sake and that’s what this video was for me. It was the opportunity to do something completely crazy and different that was definitely an homage to one of my favorite films, “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” The best part, Johnny and Donnie were completely on board and we had a lot of fun playing around in a world during prohibition with some special “Van Zant Elixir.” The cast for this piece was amazing and they really got into their roles, enduring one of the hottest days ever. It was a blazing one hundred and five degrees and I was sweating like mad in my t-shirt and shorts. I can only imagine how hot the cast was in their period clothes. Needless to say, I REALLY appreciate them (including Van Zant) braving the heat and the bugs to create one of my favorite videos to date.

The 48 Hour Film Challenge has passed through again, and another fine film has been created! This time around, we were a bit more prepared for our BUDDY FILM and pulled out all the stops to create “Bye Bye Buddy.” I LOVE doing these things. I mean, yes, it’s cool to create a short film and the challenge of making one from start to finish in 48 hours is obvious, but the best part for me is hanging out with my friends and having a blast.
We took home a few awards, including BEST BUDDY FILM and Second Runner Up Overall Best Film. Pretty cool. You can check our little movie out here . . . but be warned . . . the buddies are out there! Hehe.
I just finished the new video for the incredibly gorgeous and equally wonderful Sara Evans. The piece was created for her new single “As If,” and it was tons of fun working with Sara. She has, in my opinion, the best legs on the planet and her smile simply lights up a room. We see a lot of both in this new video that revolves around the idea of being able to purchase the “perfect” man in the not so distant future . . . when in reality . . . he might just be right under your nose the whole time. I really loved working on this and everybody involved was incredible. I’ve said it a million times . . . I work with AMAZING people and am extremely fortunate.
