Mat Kearney FINISHED!

I love it when I get the opportunity to do something a bit different and get even more excited when I get a chance to do something WAAAAY different. That’s where this video comes in, the entire piece consisting of only four pieces of video. It isn’t cut up like a normal piece, but instead tells a story with very long takes of slow motion video. Now, that said, this is never easy for the artist because they have to sing the song twice as fast, but Mat NAILED the sucker every time and we both fell in love with Q’orianka Kilcher. You may recognize her from the movie “The New World.” She is an amazing actress and we were so lucky to have her in the piece, and I can’t wait to work with her again!

This video is both surreal and powerful and will be airing during the season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy. It doesn’t get much cooler than that and to top even that, the song is freakin’ amazing and Mat’s pretty rad as well! So, look for it on TV in the coming weeks or click on the image above to watch it here.

Brandi Carlile FINISHED!

It’s no secret that I love music and when I got the opportunity to write on Brandi Carlile’s new single I fell in love as soon as I heard it. Brandi’s music is simply incredible and if you don’t already have her CD, rush out and get it as fast as possible. She’s a true songwriter and when you hear her voice you will see what I’m talking about.

“Turpentine” is a song off her album that I absolutely love and working with Brandi on the video totally ROCKED! We had a great time and the entire team pulled off a piece that is visually stunning as well as emotional. Ruby Guidara KILLED the art direction and Norman captured some incredible footage (AS ALWAYS). Of course there was also the lovely Tameron Hedge who wrangled everything in record time and the entire crew worked crazy hard.

I love this video and hope you guys will run out and grab Brandi’s CD . . . trust me, you will not be sorry!

Carrie Underwood “So Small” FINISHED!

The video for Carrie’s new single (off her new album!!) is finished! She’s never looked more beautiful and the song is simply amazing. I can’t wait until the video hits the tube next week. It’s pretty dramatic and captures the message of the song with an interesting storyline and some super cool visuals. As always, we had a great shoot in the middle of a closed interstate here in Tennessee. We used some huge balloon lights and shot all evening. I was even told by some of the officers and firemen onset that people were calling in UFO sightings as we were shooting! I thought that was especially funny, but I guess people driving down a desolate piece of highway with white glowing blobs hovering in the sky would freak some people out a bit. Hehe.

So for all of you who called in and thought we were being invaded, FEAR NOT, we were merely shooting a killer video for the incredible Ms. Underwood! Look for it on CMT and GAC soon!
